Two Friends Asking, What Counts As Real? - When Everything Feels Staged
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Halifax can’t decide if it’s spring or the Arctic, and neither can we. We start with freezing rain, sketchy roads, and the kind of drivers who treat black ice like a rumor, then take a hard turn into the real-world ripple effects of global conflict. When tensions rise around Iran and shipping lanes like the Strait of Hormuz get shaky, we feel it the simplest way possible: gas prices climbing and everyone’s budget getting punched. That connection between headlines and everyday life is the thread we keep pulling.
From there, we get blunt about protest culture and the growing trust problem. We talk about the “free Palestine” wave, the frustration of seeing people protest without understanding what they’re backing, and the claim that some protesters are literally paid to show up. Whether you believe every detail or not, the bigger question is what happens to public movements when people assume they’re staged. We also dig into politics, gridlock, and tariffs, including the part most people miss: tariffs don’t magically punish a country, they raise costs that get passed along to consumers.
Then we bring it back home with stories, sports, and a full-on NBA rant. Canadian results in world baseball and the Paralympics get their flowers, wheelchair curling blows our minds, and then we go in on Bam Adebayo’s 83-point night, free throws, late-game tactics, and what “legit” even means when records get chased. We round it out with March Madness around the corner and a surprisingly entertaining Mel Gibson Santa movie detour. Subscribe, share the show with a friend, and leave a review if you like the chaos. Which take do you agree with most, and which one made you mad?
You Wood Think? Bobby and Mikey D
It's alright.
SPEAKER_00No, we don't want to. Yeah, there it is.
SPEAKER_02Somebody gonna see the chocolate starfish on that one.
SPEAKER_03A lot of these protests are paid protesters that go to all these protests, and that's their job. 80 grand a year.
SPEAKER_01That's the claim that I've heard people make.
Halifax Weather And Icy Roads
SPEAKER_03It's not a claim. I read it. 80 grand. They interviewed this dude. He goes, Yeah, you got me, man. He goes, I'm gonna be honest. Hey everybody, welcome back to You Would Think with uh Bobby D and Mikey D. And the shitty weather in uh Halifax right now. I just had to drive through it. It sucks ass. So Tuesday it was 20 degrees, summer was here, and now it's the Arctic again. This is ridiculous, man.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's that time of year, man. It's all starting to you know fluctuate like crazy, right? Yeah, like you said, it's snow this morning.
SPEAKER_03The sensors in my car would not work because everything was frozen from the ice, stuck to all of it. Yeah, yeah. So everything just came up and it went all off on the car. I'm like, that's not good. No, I'm thinking, uh oh. Yeah, but that's what it was, and I scraped it all off and everything worked again. I was like, holy shit, man. Anyway, so yeah, so great weather. And by the way, people are still maniacs. It doesn't matter, does it mate? No, it doesn't matter. These people is just like the roads are slick, it's freezing rain and just straight on by. See them in the ditch later, I'm sure.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah. When we went in to work the other day, there was a there was a jeep in the ditch.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, seeing that jeep probably no problem. Jeep, big tires. Doesn't matter. No, right?
SPEAKER_01If it's ice, you're it doesn't matter too. It doesn't matter. No, and you don't know until it's too late. No, put the battery. And with this kind of stuff, it's like temperatures like just above, just below zero. It's you know, you can get that layer of ice underneath the snow, you won't even know it's there, right? That's all right.
Iran Tensions And Local Spillover
SPEAKER_03Yeah. So, you know what else is sketchy? The Iran war.
SPEAKER_00Oh god, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Unbelievable, man. And uh, you know, now they're saying you were telling me I didn't hear that, but you were saying there was like uh gunshots at the embassy?
SPEAKER_01Oh, the US Embassy here in Toronto, yeah. Somebody shot uh somebody shot at it a couple of times, yeah.
SPEAKER_03That's nuts.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Really? That's nuts.
SPEAKER_01That is nuts, right?
SPEAKER_03Because it's Canada. All we have is rights.
SPEAKER_01Well, there's like well, it's all in Toronto, I think, but there was three synagogues that were shot at as well up there. Synagogues. Yeah, in Michigan, somebody some uh somebody from Leban uh I think of Lebanese descent or whatever, I think they said like drove his car into the synagogue there in the past.
SPEAKER_03So explaining what Lebanon has to do with Iran and Israel.
SPEAKER_00It's because of Hezbollah.
SPEAKER_03I guess so, and that's been going on for a hundred years.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, right?
SPEAKER_03So bananas, yeah, but yeah, this here's the other thing, too, right? Like open borders for four years in the US. How many bad dudes or dudettes came into the US causing problems? Because now I I saw a little article they were talking about uh cells being started up, terrorist cells being started up by you know bad people that came across the border, but nobody knows.
SPEAKER_01Uh though though this war right now is not gonna lessen that, that's for sure.
SPEAKER_03No, World War III, basically, right? Uh you gotta get him there, he's gonna go up.
SPEAKER_01You can't, yeah, you can't go up there, girl. Come on.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so and you were saying to me, I didn't notice, but I kind of noticed. Gas is up because of the street. What this what's that street called?
SPEAKER_00The strait of oh. Yeah, there it is.
SPEAKER_02Uh somebody's gonna see the chocolate starfish on that one.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, there's their light shovel. Sorry, folks.
SPEAKER_02What is it?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, anyway.
SPEAKER_01The Strait of Hormuz, I think it's called.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so because of that, they're not letting all the oil tankers through. Yeah. So now gas has gone up 20 cents in the last couple of days.
SPEAKER_01In the last week, it's gone up twenty cents. Yeah, in the last couple of days, it's gone up about 10 cents, I think.
SPEAKER_03Ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous, right?
SPEAKER_01Well, this is this is uh the realities of this shit, right? It's right. It hits the pockets of everyday people, right?
Protest Fatigue And Paid Claims
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that's right. Yeah, I know what you're trying to do. Go over there. Yep, there you go. I figured he'd come over here and try to say, ah, well, I'll go up with Uncle, he won't knock me down. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, nice try, buddy. Yeah, so yeah, so I got the gases up. Yeah, I still got a cue card. The producers still think I'm a moron. You don't go out there, so that's okay. I can live with that. Uh yeah, so okay, here's another thing. I'm gonna go off on this one. I'm so sick of free Palestine, uh, you know, all these protests and all this. Do you people even know what you're protesting? I have ex-students that I see on Instagram wearing flags, and then I'm like, can you just go study? Like, what do you what do you do even know why you're doing that? Like, I don't think these young people even know why they're protesting. Oh, that's a whole bunch of people. That was a nice flag. I'm gonna go too. Yeah, like what are we doing? And I just found out a lot of these protests are paid protesters that go to all these protests, and that's their job. That's 80 grand a year.
SPEAKER_01That's the claim that I've heard people make.
SPEAKER_03Well, it's not a claim. I read it. 80 grand. They interviewed this dude. He goes, Yeah, you got me, man. Because I'm gonna be honest. He goes, I make about 80 grand. He said, This is what I do. I go to each one, they bust me in and pay me. I'm like, holy shit. What? Yeah, paid protesters. So it's not, it's fake, it's not even real.
SPEAKER_01Well, the protests are, but they're they're they've got to be.
SPEAKER_03But now they're bringing in, you know, instead of there's 10 people, now you got 5,000 or 300, or I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, I don't know if it's I don't know. I don't know if I'm not gonna be able to do that. Who's paying? I'm sure. I'm sure that they put people in there as agitators, maybe because then that way it's it promotes kind of the the the the anti-protest kind of agenda, whatever the whatever the protests are about, right?
SPEAKER_03But didn't protest used to be authentic, like everybody show not those uh crazy, stupid things used to be like the you know, you go to a place and all of a sudden everybody's dancing, what are those called? Like pop-up something, whatever. Yeah, sure. Not like that, but there's so many protests, and I see so many students, ex-students of mine from you know, what do you guys think?
SPEAKER_01Well, at the end of the day, it's you know, it's uh like my wife always says, it's not the government that's gonna be the ones that make the change, it's gonna be the people, right? No, the government can't be able to do that. Government, government won't make any changes.
SPEAKER_03Wise person one told me if voting could change anything, it'd be illegal.
SPEAKER_01That is that is true. Right. That is true. Anyway, yeah, you know, you gotta imagine, like most people, like this is the thing. It's uh you know, the people that are you know disenfranchised or whatever it is by by politics and everything else and choose not to vote, and which is fair enough, right? I guess, but it's yeah, you know, it's uh because they say, well, what's the point? When people get into politics, like you can't tell me that they all get in with the idea that well, I'm gonna go in there and no, I'm never gonna make a change. Like they go in with like hopes that they're gonna be able to make a change. I'm assuming there you there's idealism when you first come out of school and want to first start out in politics.
SPEAKER_03I didn't know this. Beat you down, I suppose, right? Well, so you know, you got the Democrats and Republicans, so they they all meet somewhere like on Monday morning, okay? Like them, and then they do this. So the Democrats go that way in the White House, and the Republicans go that way.
SPEAKER_04Sure.
SPEAKER_03Like they don't talk anymore. That's it. Like so this person who was saying it was a lady, and she was saying, Yeah, he's just I thought, you know, we all get together and we get to talk about stuff. Then you go, no, it's split, like total, totally segregated. Yeah. If you want to use that word, I'm like, well, no wonder nothing gets done. Nobody talks to anybody.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you see. I mean, you see the Canadian politics, the you know, the the Canada's stupid thing. They they all they get into their you know their chamber and they all yell at each other and throw insults at each other, but then they're all juggling and well, not only that, nobody ever has to answer.
SPEAKER_03That's the part I don't understand. Yeah, you you ask a question and then they come, uh, what color is the sky? 17 people died in Ukraine. What? Like, uh give me the answer to the question, at least. And the Churto used to do that all the time, but he was a numbskull. Anyway, where's he at?
SPEAKER_00Get Colonel's out, leave him alone. Fuck him.
SPEAKER_03He's taking fucking Katie Perry was dumb as a fucking rock. I'm an astronaut. Yeah. I went up and fucking Richard Brexit. Shut up, you stupid. Hey, listen, like, you know, it's uh you're an actor, stay in your lane. It's not even that good.
SPEAKER_01That's politics, man. He's no different than any of the other ones. They all none of them answer questions, right?
Billionaire Sailing Story And Bankruptcy
SPEAKER_03They don't, but he was a bitch. At least Kearney's a real man. Uh yeah, shut up, Carney. Uh, okay, well, we got the weather, but here's the other thing. So uh years ago, when I used to race sailboats for our good friend Danny Blaine, we used to race against a fellow named John Risley. John Millie's was a billionaire, owned Clearwater, Lobster, and God knows what else. Right. Right, yeah. Right. He's biting me. She's biting me, yeah. She's playing. He's playing. Now he's going bankrupt. He's liquidating everything. So he's his mansion. If you listen, you're looking for a house, Mike, his mansion down there in the arm is 12 million.
SPEAKER_04Sure.
SPEAKER_03It's going a good price. But uh yeah, this is the guy that we we had to race against. He always had the best of everything, right? We'd still beat his hilarious. Yeah. But uh, so did you ever see his house down at Chester? Do you ever get around the bluff?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. There was there was a time where we went out uh when one of the races was on, we went out with uh John Carroll on his on his yacht. That's awesome. We went around while everybody else was racing, and yeah, I got to go around and see.
SPEAKER_03I would have rather done that than race. Yeah, what's all yeah, oh they're working, you guys are laying on the front of the boat, drinking rum. Yeah, yeah. Him and his wife are awesome people, yeah. Gale. Well, the boat's called Gale Force, which is even funnier, right? Yeah, but yeah, so John Rizley, people don't know this. And John, if you don't want to tell people, it's too late, buddies. Here it is. So John Rizley has so much money, he bought a castle in Scotland, had it disassembled, brought it over to Nova Scotia, Chester, and built his house out of that castle. That castle is on the golf course uh property, which nobody wanted to sell, and he bought that for millions of dollars. Right. Then the big thing is that's a two-kilometer drive into his house. All the stumps that were cut down, he hired these people from Germany to come in and carve like wood chucks and deer and mushrooms and all this other stuff. Unbelievable.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03His house, it's got a fridge, there's no door. It's just cold air. You just reach in and you can take stuff out of it. Jesus, man. Yeah. He's got a rotating garage like that.
SPEAKER_01Oh, does he have?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Uh the tiles in the front entrance of his house are like this big, and each one's like a hundred bucks.
SPEAKER_01Where'd you say he got his money from?
SPEAKER_03Uh Clearwater Lobster Mike.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03We always wondered that about John. Yeah. So now I'm thinking he's going bankrupt because his boy that he was probably dealing with got busted. You know, or sure. What's his name? Uh the the snowboarders? Ryan um Ryan uh wedding.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. So now Ryan got busted. So John's like, well, I better allegedly, yeah. I better better uh distance myself a little bit before I get out of that. I don't have any money. What are you talking about, officer? Yeah, so good on you, John. Actually, technically, we never actually raced John. We raced his daughter. Oh, okay. Yeah, so he was never on the boats, but he was probably too busy in Columbia or wherever he was. But anyway.
SPEAKER_01Yes, my uh oh, okay.
SPEAKER_03No. Now we're having some issues.
SPEAKER_01Now we're definitely having issues, okay. Come on. Sorry, folks. Might have to it's all right.
SPEAKER_03We're leaving that in. We're leaving that in. Yeah. It's a war of the cats. We just had a problem. A black cat crossed our path. We're screwed, but this Halloween's gonna be awesome.
SPEAKER_01This is not there. This is you know, they're they're pretty good.
Tariffs Investigations And Who Pays
SPEAKER_03How old are they now? Coming up on five months. Five months, right, exactly. Okay, so destructive. A little bit, yeah. A little bit, nothing too big. Nah. Um, we were we were talking earlier about the USA's gonna investigate Canada and 60 other countries. Yeah, they're to see if they have it.
SPEAKER_01Well, to see if they have any uh trade practices that are un that are not beneficial to the states or that are that are not not beneficial, that actually like are detrimental to the United States economy, pretty much, right? And it's justification for putting tariffs back in place because the Supreme Court shut down the original tariffs that they put in.
SPEAKER_03I don't know, the whole codes and laws and whatever else, but I don't either, but like I said, yeah, there's gonna be some happy lawyers because somebody's gonna make some money with all these lawsuits.
SPEAKER_01Well, that's what we saw, right? That they uh they said uh they were gonna refund the uh uh because when they they they they they said those tariffs, the original tariffs were illegal. So we're talking like what billions, if not hundreds of billions of dollars. Hundreds of billions of dollars. Yeah, that uh that now they're saying they have to start paying back these people. So it'll be interesting to see where that where that goes, what comes of it.
SPEAKER_03Well, if that's just straight tax, the government knows that, right? Because if it's tax, we we don't see that. It wasn't you know it wasn't a person who did that.
SPEAKER_01It's it's no, so it's the it's again, it's the the I think the the misconception of it all, it's it's the importer that pays the tariff, and that tariff goes to the to the government, right?
SPEAKER_03Either way, they're gonna find something that's detrimental to the government. So again, we don't like that it's cold up there, it's not so much.
SPEAKER_01It's not Canada paying the tariff, it's the it's the the it's the purchaser of the goods from Canada that pays the tariff to bring it into the states. And so that drives the prices up, right? And that's where and then those prices get passed on to the consumer, and that's where the argument's coming is that no, it doesn't, but it does.
SPEAKER_03It does.
SPEAKER_01Uh but you know, like the way I think that the way it's looked at in the states is that it is filling their coffers, right? Like with all that money, though. So a little bit of harm.
SPEAKER_03You just saw that person on a bicycle.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_03That guy's a snowstorm. He's always on a bike. Okay, all right. Way to go.
SPEAKER_01He bikes everywhere, right?
SPEAKER_03Okay, we've got the fourth gump of uh prospect.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. All right, he's a nice, he's a nice old fella.
SPEAKER_03I bet he is, but I'm like, what are you doing on the bike out there, man?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, he just he's always on his bike.
SPEAKER_03Spiky tires? Oh, geez, out of nowhere. Yeah, yeah, okay, that's cool. But anyway, uh get your exercise in, bro.
SPEAKER_01There's I think it said that the US is one of 60 new 60 countries that were added to the list that are going to be investigated for by the state.
SPEAKER_03Canada's Canada's. Sorry, the Canada. Can't get Canada.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
Canada Sports Updates Baseball Paralympics
SPEAKER_03Right. So welcome to the club. Yeah, I know, right. Welcome to the club. So speaking of the club, world baseball. Canada made it to the quarterfinals for the first time ever. Uh, three wins. We did well.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we beat Cuba, which is uh, I think in Puerto Rico, which we've got to be.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, we we beat some real good teams, yeah, because our pitching was good, right? But yeah, anyway, we couldn't last.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Stupid U.S. I know again, eh?
SPEAKER_01Like it was just uh the close. Everybody we everybody we beat and we lost to the U.S. again. Again. And and right now, of course, like as everybody knows, the you know, there the rivalry is there, and the U.S. is starting to beat us and everything. Well, they always beat us and everything, but like in you know, it would have been nice since they took our since they beat us in hockey. It would have been nice to beat.
SPEAKER_03We have 40 million people, they have 300 million. Yeah, it shouldn't even be close. Yeah, but we're always close, right?
SPEAKER_01Yes, I think was it? California has more people than Canada.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, right?
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_03But they have more stupid people than Canada too. Wow today, little one, aren't you?
SPEAKER_01Holy smokes. You're well today. Relax, relax, man. All right.
SPEAKER_03Uh so go Canada for world baseball.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, good job. Like, hey, that's that's the best they ever did, right? Like, yeah, man. I watched the game stuff. I never did that before. They got into the quarters, they never did that before.
SPEAKER_03So listen, the USA almost didn't get in because of the.
SPEAKER_01I saw that. They only got in last minute, of course, and they beat us, right?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, lucky. Lucky, yeah. So anyway. You coming up here, are you? Turkeys?
SPEAKER_01She is definitely wound up today, but that's actually she's still being pretty good.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. So Paralympics. We got 12 medals. Yeah. We're doing well. Doing well.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03A lot in skiing, you know, obviously. Because we do well in the alpine skiing for some reason. But uh, what was the country's? You said Ukraine is doing real well.
SPEAKER_01Well, you they for medals, yeah. They had like well, they had like 17, I think. Like, I think China's number one.
SPEAKER_03Well, the reason I'm saying that is Ukraine's in a war too. Yeah, right.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. But I think, you know, it's like I think that like I said, it's uh the way the medal, what is it? Your gold count, right? Golds count for us, so Canada, yeah. Canada, I think we have more medals than a lot of people that are in front of us in the standings, but most of ours are. I think we only have two goals, the rest are silver and bronze, right?
NBA Rant Bam 83 Points
SPEAKER_03So yeah, if I don't say everything here, Mike, we don't get paid. So I gotta make sure I look at that. What are you doing down there, Turkey? All right, so here we go. Bam, out of buy your 83-point game is bullshit. So here, I'll start. You didn't have to talk now. You can go get something to drink.
SPEAKER_01So first of all, they're going to rant, are you?
SPEAKER_03Oh, it's going. I can't stand this bullshit. First of all, you played a high school team that wasn't any good, right? The Wizards, they have nobody, okay?
SPEAKER_01Sure.
SPEAKER_03We probably could have beat them with a couple of players. Sure. Timmy LeBron, we'll give it a go. Right? Yeah. He shot 43 free throws. Yep. 43 free throws. The record before that was 36 or something. Nah, I can't remember. Or 39? Yeah, I looked at it.
SPEAKER_01So the first points 35 for 40 for 43, which is pretty that's pretty good. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03But but to say it's free throw. So you better get it, right? Yeah. So the problem I said to you off camera was I've never been mad at Spolster before. I like him, but I'm mad at him now because he was telling him to foul at the end to get more possessions. Yeah, that's the only thing I didn't like.
SPEAKER_01But that's that's that's fine, I guess. But you know, I just the only thing I didn't like was the No, it's not fine.
SPEAKER_03He's not a score, he's a bullshit player. He shouldn't even play him. That's another thing.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, but I mean, I think like recency bias, like I said, with every everybody that's mad about him. And again, I said this to you offline, and this is this is what I'll say again. Everybody's like, well, he broke Kobe's record. Kobe didn't have the record.
SPEAKER_03He break Kobe's record, has the record.
SPEAKER_01Kobe was second, so he passed Kobe. He didn't break his record. Well, folks, so relax. Right. He just passed him, right? Right. And and you know, Bam's not a scorer. Like his previous high was 41, like six years ago or something like that, right?
SPEAKER_03So I told you, I saw the interview. Spoolstra told him before the game, we're going to you, you're gonna beat these guys. Because I sent I sent I sent Mike the starting lineup of the Wizards, and I'm like, Do you know any of these people? Because I didn't know any of them. No, none, right? Now, was there some fouls in the game? Yeah, but they were like, oh, foul. Like the the referee, I told listen, the referees were seemed to be in on that a little bit.
SPEAKER_01Well, again, I like I didn't so I didn't watch the game and I saw the the uproar about it. At first I saw Bam scored 83, then I saw the uproar about it. And I'm still mad. People were saying, Oh, the refs like all night long. No, it was just the last kind of few minutes of the game where everybody knew what was happening. He was going, he was going for 83. He wanted to pass Kobe. Everybody knew what he was going for, and it just seemed like like you said, he had 70. That's where it that's in my mind, that's what cheapened it, right?
SPEAKER_03Like Kobe's 81, he only had 20, 20 free throws.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Yep. That was that's a score.
SPEAKER_01And with the other thing, the other thing I saw too is that like the recent scoring outburst where folks have had like crazy games, like, you know, Booker had 70 something, like whoever Dame had 70 something, or whatever. They shot like 57, 60 percent or whatever. Chuckin' that Bam shot under 50, I think, right?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I mean, but yeah.
SPEAKER_01So that's again, like he shot seven for twenty-two from three. He's not a three-point shooter. So he was going for the record. Like, there was no once he realized what he was on pace to do, he just he was well he scored 40 uh 40 points in the first quarter. He scored 40. No, he scored 31 in the first or 33 in the first quarter. Whatever. Something nuts. He had he he had 43 or 45 at halftime, which had already surpassed his previous career highs.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, pretty impressive.
SPEAKER_01And he had 70 by, I think, like, you know, the end of the third kind of thing. Or like, or part way through the fourth. And that's when they were like, okay, now the game's out of out of reach. And Spo was like, you know what? He's almost there. He's almost. And again, like it's kind of sad that they it wasn't that they were going for the 100-point record, it was just that they wanted to pass Kobe, right?
SPEAKER_03Why would you want to pass Kobe? I uh you should feel bad doing that.
SPEAKER_01Somebody put it, somebody said this the other day, and I thought interesting.
SPEAKER_03He didn't do it legitimately.
SPEAKER_01So here's the thing as you look at the last all-star game that Jordan played in. Jordan hits a turnaround, a fadeaway jumper. Everybody thinks game's over, great ending to the all-star game. Kobe was having none out of it. Kobe was like, I don't care that this is Michael Jordan's last all-star game. I'm going down. Kobe goes down, sends the game to overtime, and the West ends up winning, right? Like, and so everybody's like, people were mad at Kobe when he did that. He's like, Oh, you took it. But Jordan was like, hey man, this is this is this is too much.
SPEAKER_03Jordan wouldn't be mad at that at all.
SPEAKER_01But I don't know if Kobe would be mad that Bam went for it. It's no matter what you say, scoring 83 points, man, that's not easy to do, right?
SPEAKER_03It's not, but like I said, it was a totally different than how Kobe did it.
SPEAKER_01Uh yeah, I I the ending was sure. I'll give you that. I didn't like that. Yeah. Again, like recently by Ko the late, the I'm pretty sure the Lakers were up by 18 when Kobe was going for his, too. It wasn't that they were. Well, that's another thing.
SPEAKER_03That score of that game was 150 something to 120. There's no defense played. That's ridiculous. Yeah. Well, let's be honest, the Washington Generals didn't have dude, they played like high school players. Yeah, yeah. It was that team's got nobody. Absolutely nobody. But I'm not finished yet.
SPEAKER_01They still, but again, they had nobody, but they put up 120.
SPEAKER_03Which is bananas. Because they played a team, you know, the the the Heat actually have some players, you know, not just Bam. But the other Washington had nobody and they still scored, like I said, 126 points.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I don't even know who's on Washington anymore. Well, yeah, no, we didn't. Kuzma was there last year and he's with he's in Milwaukee now.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_01They traded for Davis and Trey Young, but both, like Davis is out, and Trey Young, I don't think that's.
SPEAKER_03Well, I told you what Trey Young just said, you know. Oh, they're laughing at us. Wait till next year. Why, so we can laugh harder?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's right.
SPEAKER_03Like, dude, you're never gonna make the playoffs again, ever.
SPEAKER_01Your career is over. You better ask for a trade, bro. Ah, listen, I'm uh I like Anthony Davis when he's healthy, but who doesn't? You can't dominating player. You can't put bank your your on a 38-year-old that's broken. That's broken. Yeah, or Davis, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Anyway, and he didn't even get to show the only time he showed how good he was, and guess what? They won a championship. They won a championship. He was healthy and he was healthy, that's right. And he I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Hey, look at those, yeah. But those are early years in uh New Orleans as well. Like always, he was healthy, but he was anywhere, though. Yeah, they couldn't, well, he had nobody else to help.
SPEAKER_03He had nobody else to help him, but yeah. You're not gonna win with a center, right? So now, SGA, okay. So, first of all, he's Canadian. We'll give him that, but I don't like him. I want to like him, but I just can't. I don't like what he does. I don't like how he's uh what's the word I'm looking for? Baiting.
SPEAKER_01Foul baiting. Okay. I was about to say I like SGA, I don't like the foul baiting. It's the same with I like Luca, but I can't stand all the wine.
SPEAKER_03Oh god, I can't stand his wine in. Bitch. Yeah. Well, you know what though? He scored those fifty some points and right now his his wife wants custody, they're getting divorced. Or his uh girlfriend wants custody of the kids. So he's putting that aside and still still hooping. So good on you, Luca, because that's not easy. Yeah. Right? So SGA, okay, here we go. So a lot of people don't know what I'm gonna tell you right now. You might not know this. I bet you probably do though. So SGA just passed Wilt Chamberlain for the most 20-point games in history, okay? So 126 or 127.
SPEAKER_00Sure.
SPEAKER_03Here's what people don't know. So Wilt Chamberlain had that record. The reason he didn't go any further, because the next game, he was ejected in the first four minutes of the game. And then he went on another 92 game, 20-point uh right. So SGA, if you think you have the records, you don't really, bitch. Okay, because technically Wilt Chamberlain would have had, uh do the math, Mike, over 200 and some games straight if you didn't get a judge.
SPEAKER_01But that's just it. You have to go look that up. This is like it's it's uh uh Giannis said this the other day when they were talking about BAM uh and they asked him what he thought about it.
SPEAKER_03Oh, the 83 or or SGAs.
SPEAKER_01No, about BAM's 83. And uh Giannis said, listen, in in 20 years' time, like he goes, he goes, until you go look it up, you wouldn't remember how many shots Kobe shot or how many he made, how many he missed. You don't remember what the score of the game was. You just know scored Kobe scored 81. So 20 years from now, people are just gonna know that BAM scored 83, right?
SPEAKER_03No, because I'm not gonna let that happen. I'm gonna tell everybody every single time it comes up. Spolster did what he shouldn't. Yeah, that's fair. Listen, I don't give a shit. Yeah. What are you gonna do? I'm sure Charles and uh Charles and Shark. Charles and Shaq are probably gonna say something about it.
SPEAKER_01Uh I'd have to look and see. They've I'm sure they've got it.
SPEAKER_03I haven't I haven't seen what they said, but I'm waiting for to hear because Shaq's gonna go, ah, it's a bullshit.
SPEAKER_01Again, I'm sure they're gonna say that, like, oh, you know, that that the way he got it, it kind of sucked a little bit at the end, but putting scoring 83 points is not easy to do.
SPEAKER_03I sent you that AI thing when he's when they're interviewing him. And he's like, well, as far as I'm concerned, World Chamberlain never scored 100. Nobody saw it.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, right. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03It was AI, it wasn't real, but he was like, I was like, this looks so real, man. Like it's not good. You don't know who it is. And he I I listened to the whole thing, I'm like, I'm gonna send that to Mike because it's pretty funny. But it was totally BS. Of course, yeah, yeah. Still anyway, so yeah, shut up, SGA. You know, and and once again, MVP, really? Oh, SGA, yeah. How are you the MVP, but you're not even leading scorer? You don't have any records in the league this year for anything. That record doesn't make it.
SPEAKER_01So where where is he in the in the scoring second or third? Yeah, so and his team's number one in the league, right? Yeah, but that doesn't make him the most valuable player. It doesn't, but it's why he's in the conversation, I guess, right?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you take him out, they still win. You take Joker out, Denver don't win.
SPEAKER_01True. Yeah, right? They don't. Yeah, that is.
SPEAKER_03Joker needs to be the MVP for every year until somebody can oust him. Yeah, he's the leading in everything in the decade. Every single competitive.
SPEAKER_01You saw that with LeBron. Like it when what they do is becomes the norm.
SPEAKER_03Steve Nash won two years in a row, somehow.
SPEAKER_01He should have won, he definitely should have won the one. He should have won the one.
SPEAKER_03But the other one, no. Who was that? Who should have won that?
SPEAKER_01Shaq.
SPEAKER_03Shaq. And even Shaq will tell you that well.
SPEAKER_01Shaq tells you all the time. And Shaq's not shy about that.
SPEAKER_03Shaq will tell you how humble he is. Yeah, that's right.
SPEAKER_01I'm the most humble guy you'll ever meet. Never mean anybody like me. You know, never be never never be somebody more humble than me. Shaq is awesome. I love that name. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I love when he goes to Walmart and buys bikes for kids. I did see what did they say there?
SPEAKER_01Denver finally won. Denver finally won a game against one of the top seeds. Like, this is bowling really well. What? It beat San Antonio. But guess what? Wemby wasn't playing.
SPEAKER_03No, he wasn't playing. Yeah, he's heard.
SPEAKER_01Right. It was like, again, like, yes, they beat a good San Antonio team, but Wemby wasn't playing. It's the same way when Joker took his jersey over and got him to sign it. When people were beating OKC and Shea wasn't playing, it's like, okay, but their best player's not playing, right? Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Well, by the way, Wimby is like third in MVP on the on the thing. They get SGA, Joker, uh, Wimby, and then I think Cade Cunningham, believe it or not.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, well, Detroit's number one, and Cade's having a great year. Right. He's having a great year. San Antonio's number two in the world.
SPEAKER_03But he's still not Joker, and he's still Wimby's not now. You can't just no. He's an alien. You gotta give it to a human. You can't give it to Wimby. He's not real. Yeah. Right?
SPEAKER_01Oh, what is it? Pretty pretty young. Like, uh, I mean, I guess I don't think I think he Derrick Rose, I think the youngest MVP. I don't think there's any concern about that. Because what's Wemby? Like 20. What is Wemby? How old is he?
SPEAKER_03Might be 21. Like what, three years? 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, maybe, maybe.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I mean, he played and he played pro in you in France.
SPEAKER_03I think I'm pushing when I say 22. I think I'm pushing it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I don't know. We'll have to go, we'll have to go look it up, folks. Maybe he's maybe he's maybe he's older than that. But I thought I thought I didn't think he was. If he was to win MVP, I don't think he'd be the youngest ever. I think D-Row is still.
SPEAKER_03I don't think anybody's gonna beat that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. But he is a freak. He's he's uh it's amazing. Like it's yeah, you just watch when people play him, like how much like that how they have to alter their shots, right? Like so you don't know what to do.
SPEAKER_03Like there's nothing really because he's so long. You think you're over him and you're not, yeah. Like, it's just you can dunk without jumping. You can dunk that kind of uh that always cracks me up.
SPEAKER_01He's like, look at the reverse dunk by Wemby. He's like his feet are still on the ground. Well, that's what's so funny.
SPEAKER_03He's like gets inside the foul line and takes two steps and just doesn't he doesn't even jump. Like that's uh you can't defend that. I mean, honestly, it's just that that listen, that San Antonio team is looking pretty good.
SPEAKER_01They are. I told you that they're like that young, like you know, OKC. The last like remember, you know, OKC won last year, but a couple years before that, OKC was still doing really well. They were just young. Yeah, they were young. That's why I said, you know, I think San Antonio is maybe a year away. Hey, hey, if they surprise me and win this year, so be it. Um uh for the NBA and how it's so star-driven. I feel like if you end up with a San Antonio versus Detroit finals, you're not gonna have the watch that you're gonna that you'd want, right? Well, Detroit watches Detroit. Like that right there is 100% politics, right? Why do you think like it's you know, like what does Barkley always say? Well, we're contractually obligated to talk about the Lakers, even though they stink, right? Like um uh it's it's it's true, it's a star-driven league. That's what who people want to see. It's why those you know, Cleveland, San Antonio or uh Golden State ones are talked about so much because it was LeBron and Kyrie and K Love, and you had uh KD, and you had Steph, you had Draymond, you had Clay, like it was star power, right?
SPEAKER_03Like that Warriors team for a while, they was just an all-star team, basically. Yeah, it was an all-star team, yeah. It's ridiculous. That was ridiculous. I saw a thing the other day they were making fun of the Wizards again. They go, Tim Duncan has a thousand and nine wins. He's been out of the league for 10 years. The Wizards have 700. Like, it's like, what?
SPEAKER_01I I heard them say something that Washington hasn't had a 50 game, a 50 win season. Yeah, and like Wes Unselled or whatever played for them back in the day. 60s. Yeah, yeah. So that's why it's so funny.
SPEAKER_03It says, yeah. Uh what's his name's been out of the league for 10 years and he still has more wins than that's that's bad. So good luck, Trey. I don't know what you're gonna do, but your career's over. They fucked you badly, badly, bro. Um, Austin Reeves, I saw a little thing on him. We were just talking about that. Says uh might be the highest paid player in the league next year. Five years,$240 million.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we'll see, eh? Yeah.
SPEAKER_03We'll see. But like you said, LeBron's up for renewal.
SPEAKER_01They're not giving LeBron money, they're not giving him$50 million next year.
SPEAKER_03But like you said, if he doesn't get the money, is he gonna go? Doesn't matter where he goes, that team's not winning either.
SPEAKER_01Don't know, man. I guess that's what it is, you know. Like if it's uh there's like there's all kinds of little things that kind of come into play for LeBron this year, I think, right? Does he want to move, get up and move again?
SPEAKER_03Yes, that's the other thing. How long has he been in LA? Seven years, right?
SPEAKER_01What happens to he he's in LA.
SPEAKER_03Uh we'll see if he moves, Bronny didn't have anywhere to live. Well, right? What are you gonna do? Bronny's gonna go with him.
SPEAKER_01Oh, hey, listen, Bronny had a guaranteed contract for how many years? Like, I don't know if it was just two as well, but he's just made himself a few million dollars over the last couple of years.
SPEAKER_03I know, but he still lives at home. He's cheap, tries like a Toyota Fortnite or some shit. But yeah, we'll see. Yeah, we'll see.
SPEAKER_01No, I uh well listen, but Austin You can't get rid of Austin, really. But Austin deserves it. Like he is so good, so good, man.
SPEAKER_03So good. Came out of nowhere, right?
SPEAKER_01It's uh well, you know what? It's it's like we've talked about before. I think his game just translates really well to the to the way the NBA is played, right?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, for him. Make his own like I love watching him play. I love why I forget he's white.
SPEAKER_01He's definitely, yeah, I I actually really like that.
SPEAKER_03This white guy on the floor in any team, that's for sure. Fun stuff.
SPEAKER_01I hope I just hope that like being you know, and he hasn't picked it up from LeBron, but hopefully, like it doesn't the whining doesn't rub off from like Luca's whining doesn't rub off, right? Because like I saw, it's like he just got another tech again because all the whining he's whining. But people know, but that's just it. We talked about it's like Draymond with the uh the technicals. It's once you get that reputation, you're never gonna get the benefit of the doubt. It's gonna be the opposite. They're always just gonna be like, oh, there he is again, teeth, right? Yeah. Shut your mouth, Luca, and just play. You're such a good player. Stop your whining. Hey, bitch is a loss.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, bitch is a lot. But like I just told you, he's uh scored 50 points, and he's going through uh custody battle with his girlfriend over their kids.
SPEAKER_01Well, they said uh that's not good. Like the I can't remember the names, the guy's name from from Chicago. Uh player? Yeah, the player. Like dunk, really good dunker. Uh anyway, he uh he said something to Luca and Luca's like, it woke me up, right? Like so the guy.
SPEAKER_03Oh, yeah, yeah, I saw that. Yeah. They said something about you need to stop talking. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. The the the young guy. What's your takeaway from this? He's like, Yeah, maybe just don't uh just don't talk. Just don't talk to Luca.
SPEAKER_03Well, it's the same thing. You don't do that to Jordan either, right? No, maybe you just don't do that. Oh, oh, but but we have the Michael Jordan uh thing that I was telling you about about you know who's the goat that that that that uh well the stat that I saw that's very interesting is in the six years that Jordan or six years, how many years how many rings did he have? Six six in the six rings that he had, all-star appearances from other players on his team were like single digits.
SPEAKER_01Scotty every year, right?
SPEAKER_03Probably Robin when he was there.
SPEAKER_01Rodin, I think, yeah, when he was there, but yeah, and I told you I couldn't remember if Harris Grant or Horace Grant, uh doesn't matter.
SPEAKER_03The point is if you look at all the other big winners of the rings, they're in the 20s and high 20s. For cur like careers, you mean for for no uh uh all-star appearance? Yeah, for their careers, yeah. For the careers, how many people were on that team that were all-star appearances? Jordan had nobody. Yeah, yeah. Had nobody, yeah, and look how well they did, right? The biggest one I like about Jordan is when uh I can't remember the coach's name. He was the first uh they brought the new coach in and they were losing at halftime, right? And Jordan went over to the coach and goes, Don't worry, we're not gonna let you lose. No, yeah. I can't remember who the coach was. Doug Collins. Wait, dude, that's exactly who it was, Doug Collins. He goes, Don't worry, I'm saying I'm not gonna let you lose. That's pretty crazy because who else says that stuff? Like Joker doesn't say it, Luca doesn't say it, LeBron didn't really say it.
SPEAKER_01It'd be interesting to see, right? You don't really You hear after. You hear after the talking, like, and who does a lot of talking? And you know, I know like Luca does a lot of talking, and I think they were asking who who like does a lot of talking to you. And um, like he said, KD talks, uh Katie does talk. But I think he said like you know, Dylan Brooks like does a lot of talking, right?
SPEAKER_03That's his yeah, that's did he talk as weird of his DUI? No, right anyway. Yeah, not yet anyway. Yeah, yeah. Well, he does do a lot of talking.
SPEAKER_01He does do a lot of talking, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I wish he wasn't Canadian, but he is. It's unfortunate. I uh SGA when he plays, I don't I don't know, I don't know what to say. Like I I I don't like what he does. I just I can't I can't like him. The foul baiting, you mean? Yeah, I want to like him because he's yeah, he doesn't it doesn't even look like he plays hard. That's the other thing, too.
SPEAKER_01Like he makes it look so easy, he makes it look easy, so he's so smooth, but yeah, it's like it's like the reason why uh he's always duck ducking in and I couldn't stand hard. Remember this one, you roll up and under and all that bullshit. Again, it's not his fault that the rules are there and allowed for it. He's taking he's just taking advantage of it.
SPEAKER_03Well, they get rid of Harden's and all that stupid shit. Get rid of his too, right?
SPEAKER_01I'm not happy with it, but well, Harden just doesn't get those calls like he used to not anymore. Not like he used to anymore.
SPEAKER_03But yeah, hey, listen, at least Cleveland's winning now with him. You know, they got a couple of wins under their belt. What are they gonna do? Nothing he's gonna have to do.
SPEAKER_01Cleveland's only Boston's two games or three games behind Detroit, and Cleveland's only two games behind Boston. Like it's yeah, it's pretty tight. That's tight there for the top.
SPEAKER_03Well, like we were saying about the West.
SPEAKER_01And New York's only a couple of seeds behind them. So it's and that could be the top four in the east. Could it could all still change?
SPEAKER_03Depending on what their schedule is the remainder of the year, right?
SPEAKER_01Yep, that's right.
SPEAKER_03But like you said, the the West too is like two or three to what is it, three to seven or something?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think uh San Antonio and LKC are I think they're sorted. I think I don't think anybody's gonna be able to do that. I don't think anybody can catch them. Uh unless like something horrible happens and San Antonio like loses like the next ten games or whatever, right? Like I think the Thunderstorm. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00You know.
SPEAKER_01So it's hard, it's hard for that to happen. But like, yeah, I think three through seven uh are separated by two games. That's pretty crazy. That's crazy, right?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. So those playoffs are gonna look very interesting.
SPEAKER_01So that's what that's Denver, Minnesota, Lakers, uh Phoenix is seventh right now. Who else is out there?
SPEAKER_03Well, you got that's a top seven.
SPEAKER_01So you got three, four, five, six, I think you got OK uh uh Oklahoma. So they're one, yeah. San Antonio's two, then Houston Houston's the other one.
SPEAKER_03Houston's the one I was. Then Lakers, then then Denver and Minnesota. Denver, Minnesota, Phoenix. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Seven. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03But like we said, uh, whoever gets to play in, you're not winning anything anymore. It doesn't matter. We've seen that however how many years. They just want more money through uh viewership or whatever, right?
March Madness And Paralympic Curling
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Well, that that that is that's tomorrow. Selection Sunday is tomorrow for the NCAA tournament. So that's right.
SPEAKER_03Well, you know, the other thing I saw too is uh a really I didn't know this. Bam Atabayu dates uh straight woman that's an NBA WMBA player, which was shocking.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, they've been together for a while. They have. And she's not just the she's like the best player in the world. Right.
SPEAKER_03I was just gonna say she's not just any player, she also has the highest point total of any woman in the history of the WMBA. So between the two of them, it's like, what?
SPEAKER_01She's dominant, man. If you ever watch her play, she's good. Asia Wilson.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, she is good. So he he got a good one there. Didn't get so uh some slub. But uh so March Madness coming?
SPEAKER_01That's coming, yeah. Selection set selection Sunday tomorrow.
SPEAKER_03I watched a bit of a game yesterday. The Kentucky was playing, the Arizona was playing. There was a little bit on there.
SPEAKER_01Yes, tournaments. All the tournaments are all this this uh this week, right?
SPEAKER_03So you know what I forgot to talk about.
SPEAKER_01This is the one where like some teams they have the only their only chance of getting to the tournament is winning. Winning, yeah, to get to the big game dance, to get to the the the actual March Madness tournament is to win their their divisional championships, right? So or their conference winning.
SPEAKER_03I want to go back to the Paralympics. I watched the Paralympic curling. Oh, yeah. I've never seen it before. I was impressive, yeah. They got the two not only that, I was shocked about how it works. There's no sweeping. Nope. Okay, there's no sweeping, and then the other two players have to like put their chairs together so there's something to push.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so there's something to push.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and then the push that thing and make it dude. There was some unbelievable shots yesterday. Oh, yeah. Canada's good. Canada's good. Canada's good.
SPEAKER_01And the hockey, like, you ever see them? They're like, you know, they got the two little underneath the legs that are like on without whatever the the rails there. Yeah, yeah. It goes underneath it, like flick it, like anyway. Yeah. Pretty impressive. Said Canada's doing really well.
SPEAKER_03But yeah, I never, I never, I was thinking, well, I could play disabled curling. I don't what's the word? I don't know. I hope I'm not disrespecting somebody by saying that, but uh that curling I could do because you don't have to bend down low and right, yeah. Right, yeah. I'm like, all right, sit in my chair and just push it right there. Yeah, yeah, right. That I could handle. But holy shit, the shots that some of those dudes make unreal. Yeah. Unreal. So yeah, go can it in the card.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you still gotta get the right spin on it, make it curl around the films, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03With no here's the thing though. So I was watching the game, I'm like, I don't really think we need to sweep. Because these guys are making all these shots at this with the sweepers or without the sweepers. Yeah. So I'm like, does the sweeping really okay? Go watch some of the shots. It's unlikely.
SPEAKER_01I watched some of it, yeah.
SPEAKER_03You know, because you think I just watch and everybody, there's no yelling. Yeah, there's no it's very quiet, by the way, too. There's no yelling. Oh, yeah. Because you don't hear hurry, hurry.
SPEAKER_01And I'm I don't remember the I don't remember the fellow's name, but some uh US Paralympian just became the most decorated paralympian of all time, I thought as well.
SPEAKER_03Oh, for medals, yeah. Oh, gotta be a skier.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you'd think they're all yeah, uh, because then they'd be doing individual like races and events.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, because that would yeah. Well, same as the speed skaters and the the swimmers. Those are the ones that get all the medals. Yeah, right. Yeah, baseball, you get one. Yeah. Basketball, you get one, yeah. Well, it looks like the snow has stopped.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's just a now it's just freezing, right?
SPEAKER_03So way safer.
SPEAKER_01Uh I think it's I think it's just rain now. It's probably just you'll see when you get on the road, it's just gonna be a big snow. Yeah, it's gonna be a good thing. It's still gonna be slippery, it's just gonna be slush everywhere now.
SPEAKER_03My Santa Claus sled.
Mel Gibson As Santa Review
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Oh, by the way, I just watched I didn't even know this existed. I just watched a movie because I was bored with Mel Gibson as Santa Claus. Okay, dude, it's the best Christmas movie you'll ever see in your life. Next to Bruce Willis's diehard.
SPEAKER_01Oh, is it like a it's one of those ones? Is it?
SPEAKER_03Well, he's he they his name is Chris. Yeah, right. He's uh he can't be killed.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, he drank fentanyl and he was good. Oh, yeah, the movie Bananas. You need to watch it.
SPEAKER_01Okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_03It is. I was shocked at how good it was. I never even heard of it. I it was on prime. I'm like, what's that? Well, Gibson clicked on it. I'm like, okay, this is all right.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it was pretty good.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and what why it's so funny is because uh I'm gonna ruin it for anybody, I don't care. Spoiler alert. So the U.S., because he wasn't he's losing money every year at the at the North Pole with the gifts and stuff. He's losing money. So he has to bring some money in. So the the uh the US military has asked them to be able to do it.
SPEAKER_01I actually think I saw this. Did you see it? Yeah, they had the bills. Okay, see no, it wasn't bad. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It wasn't bad.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, they could have got a better bad guy. That I don't like that bad guy. He plays bad guys in the books. I don't know his name, but he could have got a better bad guy.
SPEAKER_01I have to go back and live. I'm sure I it's it sounds very familiar, so I probably but I was like, okay, that's all right.
SPEAKER_03And his his wife was uh was a black lady, which I thought was was fun. Okay, right? She was awesome, but uh yeah, so just uh watch it. It's it's interesting. Yeah. I'll have to Mel Gibson, can't beat him. He plays he's such good in the role, he's such a good in the role. So good. Oh, Mel Gibson.
SPEAKER_01I mean, he's you know he got caught going on that drunken racist tirade there, like uh yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03He was saying something about the Jews.
SPEAKER_01Is he Jewish? No, he's I don't think no, he's Christian.
SPEAKER_03Oh, okay, whatever.
SPEAKER_01Very religious dad, right? Anyway, yeah, he yeah, and then then it came out like voicemails that he was leaving to his wife at the time, like calling her down to the lowest.
SPEAKER_03No, it doesn't. Don't drink, people. This is the problem, right?
SPEAKER_01I remember when Mel was younger, like he got in trouble, just like Russell Crowe, you know, not like you know, I don't never heard Russell Crowe go on any like racial tie uh like rants or anything like that, but remember Russell Crowe used to get like drunk and get like uh get in trouble, like uh uh you know, smashing up hotel and all that kind of stuff, right?
Spring Teases Local Warnings And Farewell
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. So we tried to finish, we couldn't. Anyway, so uh that's it for today. Uh safe driving to everybody, and uh what's coming down the pipe? Oh, March break for the kitties.
SPEAKER_01March breaks next week.
SPEAKER_03March breaks next week. So look around, people. There's gonna be a lot of people. Uh hey, the ride.
SPEAKER_01I was telling you you were complaining about the weather. I said, but the robins were out yesterday, so they're back. The the daylilies are all starting to pop up in the garden, so we're not we're not far away. Spring's not that far away.
SPEAKER_03Bullshit. I hate this weather.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01So did I tell you too that the mechanics were saying mechanics, uh, Halifax mechanics were saying telling people that rats are nesting in the cars like when it gets cold. So watch out for that. Watch out for that. Yeah, that ship has probably sailed. I'm assuming that warning came out later. I just saw it though, for some reason.
SPEAKER_03Okay, we tried to finish. I got something else just to want to bring up too. So St. Patrick's Day is coming up in a couple of days. Well, they just closed the oval uh on the commons. Oh, yeah. So I'm wondering if that had anything to do with the drunken Irishman on skates. They probably said we need to close that, but for one of the leprechauns get injured. Yeah, yeah. So yeah, so it's closed for the close for the winter or the the summer, I should say. The skating parts over, it's gonna be open back up for the summer for everybody. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Wow, like you said, it was what is it like 16 degrees, like a just about four days ago. So yeah.
SPEAKER_03So there you go.
SPEAKER_01Ice doesn't do well in that kind of temperature, that's for sure.
SPEAKER_03No, and I as I was driving in, everything's clear now. You just know, yeah. So that was a lot of rain, too. I was glad we got that.
SPEAKER_00Yep. Yep.
SPEAKER_03Anyway, um, the producers didn't give me the uh top five this uh this week. Check's not coming. Yeah, so um we don't know who it is, so we'll get back to you next week on that, but we'll see if Lithuania takes over. That's right, yeah, yeah. Canada, US, Lithuania, Finland, okay, Singapore. All right, anyway. So once again, you can watch us on uh Buzzsproat, Apple Podcasts are big. The Spotify obviously is big. Um you can also watch it on my actual channel, uh Muscle and Fiction with Coach Bobby. We're still putting stuff up there, and uh that's it, everybody. So you know what it is. Stay bitchy, bitches.
